I made the trip over to Pullman this weekend for the Apple Cup. Winter was in full swing as game time temps were in the mid 20’s but a near packed house at Martin Stadium didn’t seem to mind and took advantage of the snow that fell most of the week by pelting the field with snow balls. This year’s game had something riding on it other than being a rivalry game, a Husky win would mean a bowl game for the first time in several years. The Huskies managed to get past a much improved Cougar team 35-28 and earned themselves the Apple Cup trophy and a trip to San Diego for the Holiday Bowl!
Jake Locker said goodbye to Husky Stadium in style leading the Huskies to a 24-7 victory over UCLA Thursday night. The Huskies came out in all black uniforms as part of the university’s “Black out” campaign. The crowd got one last chance to see seniors Jake Locker and Mason Foster, but it was Chris Polk that had the big night finishing with 138 yards and a score.
Well, I’ve been waiting for several month for this, but It’s finally here. FOOTBALL SEASON!! Washington opened it’s home season against the Syracuse Orange this last Saturday at Husky Stadium. The Day marked the 9th Anniversary of 9/11. The Huskies started off slow, but then the offense started clicking and they rolled to a 41-20 win. Jermaine Kearse had a big day with 3 touchdowns from Jake Locker.
