A struggling Oregon State Beavers team came into Husky Stadium and ran into a fifth-ranked Washington team that was firing on all cylinders. Jake Browning had another big game with 3 TDs as the Huskies rolled to a 41-17 win over the Beavers.
I made the trip down to Corvallis last weekend for the Oregon State – Colorado game. Both teams were looking for their first Pac-12 win of the season. Watching the game, you could tell why both of these teams were winless in the conference. It was a pretty rough game as both teams struggled to get their offenses going. Colorado was able to pull off a 17-13 victory. This was actually the first conference win in the last 14 tries for the Buffaloes, so they were happy to get that weight off of their backs.
Last weekend I made the trip down to chilly Corvallis to get my taste of a new rivalry game. The “Civil War” game between the Oregon Ducks and Oregon State Beavers. The Beavers have struggled this year but the #2 ranked Ducks are on track to play for the first ever playoff for the National Championship. As with all rivalry games, you can usually throw out the team’s records because they get hyped up and come out ready to play. Or so the story goes… Oregon stormed right out of the gate and it was 9-0 before you could even blink an eye and Heisman trophy front-runner Marcus Mariota accounted for 6 touchdowns on way to a 47-19 rout of the Beavers.
