Here’s a fun piece that I put together with shots of all the helmets of teams that I have shot over the past few years. It sure looks like a lot when you get them all together like this. You will see the black and white version below. It’s funny how they all blend together when you take out all of the colors that make them distinctive and iconic. You can see the color version and see the difference for yourself. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to photograph all these teams over the past few years for Lindy’s Sports Annuals and hope to do it for several more years.

787 First Flight

I was lucky enough to attend the First Flight of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner this morning. It was quite a sight to see it take off. There was a great feeling of pride for all the Boeing employees in attendance. More photos here

Last night’s Husky game was the last of the season and they came up huge against the #19 ranked Cal Bears winning 42-10. Jake Locker had a hand in 5 touchdowns for the game in what may have been his last as a Husky. The crowd chanted “One More Year!” all evening. If it was Jake’s last game, I will miss watching him play here, I have got some great shots of him over the past few years. C’mon, Jake, how about one more year?

Apple Cup 2009

The Huskies dominated the Cougars 30-0 in this year’s edition of the Apple Cup. Here are a few shots from the game. Enjoy!

It was a physically rough game for the Cougars. Kevin Lopina was knocked out of the game twice.

Jermaine Kearse is brought down after a pass from Locker. The two hooked up on a long touchdown later in the drive.

Backup QB Marshall Lobbestael scrambles and gets a pass off. He was later also knocked out of the game for a while.

Chris Polk became the first freshman in Husky history to rush for 1,000 yards. He finished this game with 130 yards and a touchdown.

On the Road to Pullman – UCLA @ WSU

I got to take my first “Road Trip” of the season for an assignment to shoot the WSU Cougars at home against the UCLA Bruins. I took off early Saturday morning for the drive across the state to Pullman. It was my first chance to shoot at Martin Stadium. The 2 PM kickoff made for some harsh shadows to adjust to. It was a cold one with the temperatures hovering right around freezing. The Bruins dominated the Cougars right from the start for a 43-7 conference win.

Akeem Ayers picks off Marsall Lobbestael's first pass attempt of the game. The Bruin's Defense picked off 3 of Lobbestael's passes before he was replaced.

UCLA wasted no time after the turnover, scoring on a pass to Taylor Embree.

Derrick Coleman busts through the line for a gain.

The Bruin's Defense was all over Marshall Lobbestael. He was replaced in the second quarter.

Johnny Forzani gets uprooted by a UCLA defender after a completion.

Kevin Prince is hit right as he releases the ball.

Kevin Prince takes off for a 68 yard touchdown run.

Johnny Forzani gets stopped on a kickoff return.

Even the punting game was off for the Cougars as Reid Forrest bobbled the snap in the endzone and tried to get off a kick only to have it blocked for a safety.

Johnathan Franklin tried to break free from the grasp of Alex Hoffman-Ellis.
