I made the drive down to Eugene last weekend to shot the WSU-Oregon game. The Ducks have handled the Cougars for the past 8 years, so the Cougs were due. This is not the kind of explosive Ducks team that they have had in the past and WSU was ready to put this losing streak to bed. The Ducks appeared to have another win locked up but Luke Falk connects with Dom Williams with no time left and the Cougs were able to pull it not in overtime 45-38.
Last weekend I made the trip down to chilly Corvallis to get my taste of a new rivalry game. The “Civil War” game between the Oregon Ducks and Oregon State Beavers. The Beavers have struggled this year but the #2 ranked Ducks are on track to play for the first ever playoff for the National Championship. As with all rivalry games, you can usually throw out the team’s records because they get hyped up and come out ready to play. Or so the story goes… Oregon stormed right out of the gate and it was 9-0 before you could even blink an eye and Heisman trophy front-runner Marcus Mariota accounted for 6 touchdowns on way to a 47-19 rout of the Beavers.
I made the trip down to Eugene this weekend for the Ducks and Huskies game. The Ducks were looking to extend their dominance over the Dawgs to eleven straight years. The Ducks broke out some beautiful throwback uniforms to commemerate the twentieth anniversary of “The Pick” which most people believe was the point when the Oregon football team made the turn into the powerhouse that they are now. The Ducks scored early and often on way to a 45-20 victory and stay in the NCAA final 4 discussion.
