I kicked off the 2017 season on the road with a trip down to Los Angeles to shoot my alma mater Western Michigan Broncos as they took on the USC Trojans at the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The temperature was in the triple digits for most of my visit down there which made for one of the hottest games I have ever photographed. Being able to shoot a game at the Coliseum was one of those bucket list items that I have been wanting to try and do for several years and I was happy to get the opportunity to do so. It was a very cool experience. The Broncos put up a heck of a fight right up until the end, but a few big plays by USC sealed the 49-31 victory.
A struggling Oregon State Beavers team came into Husky Stadium and ran into a fifth-ranked Washington team that was firing on all cylinders. Jake Browning had another big game with 3 TDs as the Huskies rolled to a 41-17 win over the Beavers.
The Washington Huskies decided that 12 straight losses to the Oregon Ducks was enough. The 5th ranked Dawgs rolled into Eugene last Saturday and showed that those days of Duck dominance were over. The Huskies hit early and very often on way to a 70-21 thrashing of the Ducks. Jake Browning led the way with a school record 6 passing touchdowns and two more on the ground.
