Hellava lotta helmets

Here’s a fun piece that I put together with shots of all the helmets of teams that I have shot over the past few years. It sure looks like a lot when you get them all together like this. You will see the black and white version below. It’s funny how they all blend together when you take out all of the colors that make them distinctive and iconic. You can see the color version and see the difference for yourself. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to photograph all these teams over the past few years for Lindy’s Sports Annuals and hope to do it for several more years.

Jake Locker announced today that he will stick around for his Senior season. I’m looking forward to getting one more year of watching him play and see what the Huskies can do.

Ending the season on a high note

Last night’s Husky game was the last of the season and they came up huge against the #19 ranked Cal Bears winning 42-10. Jake Locker had a hand in 5 touchdowns for the game in what may have been his last as a Husky. The crowd chanted “One More Year!” all evening. If it was Jake’s last game, I will miss watching him play here, I have got some great shots of him over the past few years. C’mon, Jake, how about one more year?

Apple Cup 2009

The Huskies dominated the Cougars 30-0 in this year’s edition of the Apple Cup. Here are a few shots from the game. Enjoy!

It was a physically rough game for the Cougars. Kevin Lopina was knocked out of the game twice.

Jermaine Kearse is brought down after a pass from Locker. The two hooked up on a long touchdown later in the drive.

Backup QB Marshall Lobbestael scrambles and gets a pass off. He was later also knocked out of the game for a while.

Kevin Lopina gets flattened again and is knocked out of the game for good just before the half. The Cougars had to put in third stringer Dan Wagner to finish the first half.

Chris Polk became the first freshman in Husky history to rush for 1,000 yards. He finished this game with 130 yards and a touchdown.

Quack Attack! – Ducks beat Dawgs 43-19

Oregon came into Husky Stadium on Saturday and dominated the Huskies 43-19. This was a very hard game to shoot when the Duck’s offense was on the field because the ball movement was so quick and it was hard to see who actually had the ball sometimes. That’s probably why it was so hard for the Dawgs to stop them.

Miracle Finish – UW beats Arizona

The Huskies earned a miraculous 36-33 win over Arizona on Saturday night. They scored two touchdowns in 18 seconds at the end of the game to pull out the win.

Shocker!! UW 16 – USC 13

The Huskies shocked the #3 ranked USC Trojans today at Husky Stadium. Easily the biggest upset in college football this year so far. Here are a few shots from the game.

Of course, the underlying story of today's game was the first meeting between Steve Sarkisian and Pete Carroll.

After losing the last 15 games in a row, The Washington Huskies were glad to see the Idaho Vandals come in to town. The streak was finally broken with a 42-23 win. Here are some photos from the game.

Football is Back!!
