Few people gave the WSU Cougars who had yet to win a Pac-12 game much of a chance to knock off the 25th ranked Huskies Saturday in Pullman, but that’s just what they did. The Huskies had a comfortable lead in the 4th quarter but the Cougars stormed back with 18 unanswered points to push the game to overtime. The Huskies turned the ball over on their attempt and the Cougars jumped on that mistake with a field goal to seal the 31-28 victory. It’s that time of year again when all of the football preview magazines start hitting the shelves. and like every other year, Lindy’s continues to put out the best books available. They have great writing and the best use of photos of any of the others out there. Here are 3 covers that I have photos on this year.

I’ve gathered up my favorite sports images from 2010 here. I feel very fortunate to have been able to to shoot so many great events and meet so many great people. I hope you enjoy.
I made the trip over to Pullman this weekend for the Apple Cup. Winter was in full swing as game time temps were in the mid 20′s but a near packed house at Martin Stadium didn’t seem to mind and took advantage of the snow that fell most of the week by pelting the field with snow balls. This year’s game had something riding on it other than being a rivalry game, a Husky win would mean a bowl game for the first time in several years. The Huskies managed to get past a much improved Cougar team 35-28 and earned themselves the Apple Cup trophy and a trip to San Diego for the Holiday Bowl!

Here’s a fun piece that I put together with shots of all the helmets of teams that I have shot over the past few years. It sure looks like a lot when you get them all together like this. You will see the black and white version below. It’s funny how they all blend together when you take out all of the colors that make them distinctive and iconic. You can see the color version and see the difference for yourself. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to photograph all these teams over the past few years for Lindy’s Sports Annuals and hope to do it for several more years.
